Apartment Managers Group
The Apartment Managers Group was formed to identify, discuss, and address issues and events affecting apartment communities. At these meetings, managers receive area crime statistics, discuss any trends in their area, and receive new information from guest speakers.
The group meets quarterly in the months of January, April, July and October on the second Thursday of the month. The meetings are from noon to 1 p.m., in the multi-purpose room of the Garland Police Department. For more information, call Officer Mallison at 972-205-2740.
Lock, Take, & Hide
Garland Police have adopted the “Lock your car, Take your keys and Hide your belongings” program which first began in downtown Dallas. The Lock, Take and Hide program not only has an impact against vehicle break-ins but also residential, commercial and industrial properties.
Residential Lockbox Program
The Garland Police Department’s residential lockbox program is designed to expedite access to senior adults in their own homes during medical or other emergencies. The lockbox program also reduces the likelihood of property damage caused by first responders forcing entry into a home in response to an emergency call.
United
Unidos is a Hispanic community outreach program designed to provide assistance to Spanish speaking residents in the Garland area. Unidos meetings are held every two months and conducted entirely in Spanish. The program is hosted by the Garland Police Department with additional support from other City of Garland departments. The intent of the program is to act as a resource center for Spanish speaking residents to present information and provide assistance in areas of importance to the Hispanic community.

El Departamento De La Policía de Garland Trabajando Junto Con La Comunidad Hispana. Unidos es un programa Hispano para que asistan los residentes del area de Garland en el idioma Español. Las juntas de Unidos se hacen cada dos meses y estan en el idioma Español. El Departamento de la policía de Garland con la ayuda de otros departamentos de la ciudad de Garland presentan el programa. La intención del programa es hacer un recurso central para los residentes que hablan Español y para presentar información y dar asistencia sobre las areas de importancia para la comunidad Hispana.
